Actor
What inspires you as an artist?
I find stage performances to be some of the best therapy out there. Both for audiences and performers. I’m here to make people laugh. I’m here for the joy.
Who are or were your theatrical heroes?
Sutton Foster is a master class. She embodies such poise in her performances. She reels you in with her girl next door persona, and then the wackadoodle comes out! She really gets to play both sides of the spectrum of the personifications of women in musical theatre. She just gets it!
What kind of theatre excites you?
Musicals. Tap musicals. The contemporary, hard hitting shows are great, don’t get me wrong.
Lately, I really need a good ol’ fun, light hearted musical with a massive, iconic dance break.
What’s the craziest thing you have ever needed to do for theatre? I got called in to learn Ensemble and US to the lead role 2.5 weeks to opening, and ended up going on for 4 consecutive shows the day after opening night with no rehearsal for that US track. Pretty proud of my prep work for that show.
Outside of a theatre, what’s your favorite hot spot in Orange County? I’m a Disney Adult. Through and through. I am also a fan of Strong Water Tiki Bar in Anaheim.
What advice do you have for theatre artists just starting out in Orange County?
1) Show up to every audition-both physically and mentally! Even if you didn’t book today’s job, you’re auditioning for any project that team casts in the future. 2) If anyone ever disrespects your integrity or boundaries for the sake of “the show/role”, leave. Protect your peace and safety above all else.
